When attributing a position to another discussion participant, particularly a position to which that other participant is likely to object, please provide a reference, via a link or quote, to his actual words taking that position. That way we can look at his actual words and see if your paraphrase is right.
Alternatively, phrase it as a polite question to the particular person.
This rule does not apply when describing a general position and arguing for or against that position. It applies when attributing ideas to particular persons in the discussion.
